Here we go

Here I am. In full glory. I'm not sucking in the gut, not looking down to minimize the double chin and not smiling. Not a pretty picture, is it?
In short, I'm tired of being this way.
Maybe you're like me. I was the "fat kid" in elementary school and I swear, the names I was called still haunt me. In high school, I was an athlete but bever felt like one. I always felt like the "fat kid." Well, no more.
I hit the big 40 on June 15th this year. Now, I know I'm not going to be at my goal weight by then (should have stared sooner), but I certainly can make a huge dent in the progress.
I have been wanting to do this for a long time. However, my eye opener was when my Doctor told me I needed to lose weight or I was going to run into some health problems. Enough said, Doc! I'm on board!

I'm training for a marathon on Memorial weekend. So, as I chronicle my daily routines, you may notice I'm running a lot. now you know why.
If you want to join me on this venture, I would love to have you on board. You can email me and I will include your progress along with mine!
Yipee, let's get it going! Weigh days will be on Monday and measurments will come once a month.

Age- 39
Height - 6'3"
Weight - 256 (Goal of 210)
Neck - 17
Chest - 47
Waist - 45

  1. Well I was expecting someone much larger than what I see in this picture. Congrats to you for getting to 40 before a doctor mentioned weight could be a health concern. Most folks in the US are being told as children and young adults.
That said...THANK YOU! For being someone like me who is pushing over weight and not willing to let it go farther. I feel like there are more people in that category with little motivation these days because the focus is on the truly obese. I may not get many opportunities to follow the blog but now that I know its about the rest of us I will certainly make the effort. Good luck Dan!
